Ulster 32    Borders 8

Ulster go into their November "break" in good shape after this bonus point win over the Borders.

It didn't look as if it was going to be that way in an error strewn first half where the Borders played all the rugby and were unfortunate to turn round only 3 - 5 in the lead. The Simon Danielli try was scant reward for the application of the Borders pack and the intelligent lines run by the Scottish teams backs.

The second half was a different matter and once Ulster got ahead thanks to Humpherys second penalty Ulster never looked like losing. The inclusion of McCullough and the always reliable Nigel Brady seemed to shore up the forwards and they started to win more ball.

Dawson went over from a lineout move to get his first for Ulster. Soupy looking hungry for some more game time took a quick tap to go under the posts and Fitzy bagged the third with a five yard rumble.

The best try of the night came in the dying minutes and was a well worked move between Steiny and Bart up the left wing which secured Ulster a somewhat fortunate bonus point.

Special mention to Paul McKenzie who looked sharp after replacing Maxi on the wing. He only got the ball a couple of times but looked to make good ground each time. Looking forward to seeing more of him.

For the first time the FRU agree with the Belfast Telegraph and the Award of FRU Man of the Match goes to "Mr Ulster" Stephen Ferris.

INTISTA Week 10

Well Ardmhic has made it to the top of the table and to celebrate we at the FRU got our very own "Ulster Scots Cheerleaders" to dance a special routine for him at our secret headquarters in the Maze. (Hope he recovers soon!)

Will Kimble remember to put his entry in in time this week?

Will Stormin Norman come in to work this week now he's caught Loose Head Poop?

Will Loose Head Poop change his lucky coin as he only scored two points this week?

Only time will tell!

There are only three games this week but a bonus point will be awarded if you get them all right.

See the Menu to the right for match details.

New Horizons!

The FRU are pleased to announce the formation of the Nova Scotia lodge of the Ulster Rugby Supporters Club.

No, Kimble the Magnificent has not decided to go international. This "New Twig" of the Ulster Branch owes its formation to Belfast YMCA and our very own Youngman (and friends).

Such a good time was had by Dartmouth Pig Dogs RFC of Nova Scotia during their visit to Belfast last March that they emptied SS Moores of Ulster Kit before returning to the sunny climes of eastern Canadian.

Such is their love of all things "White and Beautiful" that Ulster tops are now a must pre and post match for the discerning Pig Dog.

Below is a picture of the teams that partook in a feast of rugby on March 18 2006. If you look closely to the extreme right of the picture you may be lucky enough to catch a glance of our very own Youngman. He obviously forgot his boots that day!
